The unit is as described however the description on the website was not detailed enough as the unit needs to be fitted through a fence with a thickness of at least 20mm to take up the gap between the faceplate and the box.

I thought the letterbox was ok but not worth £90!
After a pretty straightforward install I thought it looked great on my gate and I was impressed. It rained quite heavily the next day and when I checked the box for my mail it was soaking wet! So there is a flaw in the design somehow. I had to seal it all the way round with black silicone just to stop the water getting in again. The instructions could have been better and maybe you could provide some sort of template so it makes the hole and fixing holes perfectly accurate.
Overall it’s nice to look at and does the job just shame about the leaking water and the price.Thank you so much for your invaluable feedback. We would recommend that this letterbox is only suitable for gates and fences with a smooth even surface in order to obtain a good seal between the faceplate, the fence and the collection box and we would suggest using a silicone seal where the surface is not smooth. I'm so pleased to see you have found a solution to keep your mail dry and I have forwarded your comments to our manufacturers to see if there is anything they can add to the 2 sections to avoid the use of silicones in future. Thank you again for your comments and I hope you are now enjoying your letterbox.
